Gov’t Reopens, Trump Drafts National Emergency Order

A report from CNN indicates that the White House has drafted a national emergency order to procure $7 billion in funding for a border wall.

It’s possible that this option is why President Trump agreed to end the shutdown, restoring the pay of some 800,000 federal workers.

While this isn’t the first time that President Trump has considered the possibility of declaring the issue an emergency, the recent update to the draft shows that the option hasn’t been ruled out.

CNN also disclosed potential places from which  Trump could pull funds. The outlet shared that $681 million could be pulled from treasury forfeiture funds, $3.6 billion from military construction, $3 billion in Pentagon civil works funds, and $200 million from Department of Homeland Security funds.

Although any such declaration is bound to be challenged by the Democrats who find purpose in defying Trump and the will of the people.

However making the declaration will certainly show that President Trump WILL find a way to deliver on his promise.

An excerpt from the draft proclamation reads:

“The massive amount of aliens who unlawfully enter the United States each day is a direct threat to the safety and security of our nation and constitutes a national emergency,” the draft states.

“Now, therefore, I, Donald J. Trump, by the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C 1601, et seq.), hereby declare that a national emergency exists at the southern border of the United States.”
