13-year-old Jamie Closs of Wisconsin, has reportedly been found after being kidnapped following the murder of her parents this past October.
She was found in Gordon, Wisconsin and has been reunited with her remaining family.
Jayme’s aunt, Jennifer Smith told ABC News, “We are just happy everyone kept praying and didn’t give up home [sic] like we didn’t,” adding, “A lot of happy tears in this house tonight.”
The Daily Beast reported that Closs was discovered when she approached Jeanne Nutter, as Nutter was walking her dog.
Jeanne’s husband Forrest recounted the experience: “The girl just came out of the woods,” Forrest shared with The Daily Beast. “She [Jeanne] kept her composure and took the girl to a safe place and called the sheriff’s department. She called and said they found Jayme and she was going to the hospital.” Speaking about his wife: “It was really very stressful for her and she is not up to talking about it.”
While a suspect is in custody, there has been almost no other details released about the case. The Barron County Sheriff’s Department confirmed via statement:
“Shortly after this a suspect was taken into custody in regards to this case. We do not any other details at this time as this is a very fluid and active investigation. We will not be answering any questions or taking calls on this tonight.”
Officials are expected to release a press briefing on the case later today.
