Democrats are trying to take matters into their own hands has they launch attacks that amount to a proxy war on the GOP.
The House Judiciary Committee is proceeding with the plan to hold Attorney General William Barr in contempt of Congress for refusing to submit to a subpoena for the unreacted Mueller report.
“The attorney general’s failure to comply with our subpoena, after extensive accommodation efforts, leaves us no choice but to initiate contempt proceedings in order to enforce the subpoena and access the full, unredacted report,” Chairman Jerry Nadler said via statement.
However the Committee’s leading Republican, Rep. Doug Collins, is outing Nadler’s move as “illogical and disingenuous” as the Justice Department is still in negotiations with the committee panel.
“Democrats have launched a proxy war smearing the attorney general when their anger actually lies with the president and the special counsel, who found neither conspiracy nor obstruction,” reads the statement from Collins.
