GOP Rep: McConnell Should Step Down

Friday on CNN’s “New Day,” Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL), a candidate for the U.S. Senate in Alabama, suggested it might be time for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to step down from his leadership position if he is unable to repeal Obamacare.

Brooks explained that if were unable to accomplish that repeal, then he may be unable to fulfill other parts of President Donald Trump’s agenda.

“Unquestionably the leadership at the top is responsible,” Brooks said. “The buck stops there, that’s why you take on that kind of responsibility,” Brooks said. “And if Mitch McConnell cannot get the job done on this, how is he going to get the job done on the rest of President Trump’s agenda over the next three-and-a-half years? As I see it right now, this is a killer … It’s not necessarily anything bad about Mitch McConnell himself personally. But he’s got a job to do, and if he can’t do it then, as ‘The Apprentice’ would say, ‘you’re fired,’ get somebody who can.”

Remove the hold bunch & start over. I’m done with both parties.

    • pappy450

Like I said in one of my posts…All these so-called “representatives” are, are, “high paid actors” in a theater called “session of congress” where they play out “arguments” to attempt to make the American People THINK they are trying to ‘fight” for them, BUT in reality, the ONLY thing they are ‘fighting” for are MORE taxpayer dollars, reelection “contributions”, voting themselves pay “raises”, and getting things done quickly so they can go on vacation to plan to get MORE WAYS to get MORE money from “WE THE PEOPLE” and retire RICH. (does THIS sum it up?)

      • Tar Heel58

Yep, that sounds about right. Don’t think there’s more than a handful that have their heart in the job. McCain and Graham are useless, totally useless. They are not alone either. What happened to all those new Conservatives that we pumped money into their election years back? They learned to play the game. PITIFUL!

        • pappy450

I can tell you exactly what happened to those “new conservatives” they were told by the “elites” in congress and their “handlers” to “play ball” or the bat will be shoved firmly up their butts and they WILL be run out of town if they don’t go along to get along. Over the years I have seen MANY good “conservatives” run OUT of DC because they “thought” they could “make a difference”. The SWAMP needs to be drained of these “creatures” before ANYTHING can ever get done. MOST are DEMOCOMMIECRATS and RINOS That don’t want to LOSE that POWER, CONTROL and TAXPAYER DOLLARS that FUND the cushy lifestyle they ENJOY.

  • Spot

It’s what the people want not Trump!

  • John nelsion

Mo Ho Brooks just wants his job, they both need to hit the road and never come back to congress and lose their health care. Why should we keep paying the bunch of two face pigs.

  • lolastaples

    Get rid of McConnell!

  • Retied

Actually it’s McCain who needs to retire and Schumer needs to start acting as an adult and start working with not against the ruling party

    • maxx

Maybe God is “intervening” will regard to McCain. McCain might have been a conservative Republican during his first term but that was the only time. He referred to himself as a “maverick” but if one studied his voting pattern you will see he only voted like a Republican when it was a sure thing and the Republican vote was overwhelming. Whenever it was close he always votes with the democommies.

      • Victoria Gray

God does not punish but I do believe sometimes he steps aside!

    • HAWK

Right you are McCain is a useless RINO and Shumer is unable to act as an adult it`s stupidity and they havent found a cure for that.

I strongly agree. At a certain age when the brain is slow to react, and the decision process is slowed to a near halt, go home sit on the porch drink in the fresh air, and rest on your laurels. Why make younger America suffer with these old people running things into the ground. We need new blood all over DC. If these old geezers keep running things our kids and grand kids will have no future. Get rid of Mitch, Pelosi, McCain, and a long list of other losers still on the Gov. dole as supposed leaders. I urge America to vote to impose term limits on Congress. They will never do it, so we should call for a national referendum on limiting these old folks. Congress looks like a nursing home. Just watch them on C Span every day. It’s a disgrace for America to have these Old Old senile and Alzheimer dolts giving speeches, and making bad decisions for futures.

    • Tar Heel58

Folks if you’re not familiar with how Convention of States works you really need to do some research, then pester the heck out of your Repersenitive and Senators. While your at it term limits is way past due.

      • maxx

We the people need to start demanding “term limits”. Politicians will NEVER voluntarily give up their positions. They are the ones telling us how “dangerous” an Article V Convention of the States would be. Yes indeed, dangerous for them. The Article V is the only actual solution provided by the “Founders” to rein in a rogue government and force a change to the Constitution via amendments, outside of calling for a “military coup” to clean out the D.C. swamp. .

    • maxx

Meant to put this after Tar Heel58.

    • HAWK

Right term limits will eliminate that.

  • Bill

Traitors! What a pathetic bunch of boobs, murkowski, McCain, Collins graham, etc and the whole Democratic Party. Michy boy your the failed leader in the senate.

  • Pamela H

This is one well-spoken and direct guy…….God Bless him!!!

  • Richard Bagenstose

him and ryan should step down and switch to the democrat party, they ain’t republicans like the kenyan clown ain’t a democrat , he’s a muslim with no political side , the only thing that matters to him is the total desturction of america like his father

  • Carolann Enkhaus

Get rid of McCain, McConnell, Ryan, Flake, Collins and Graham…a clean sweep so we can make our country great again!

    • maxx

One would think that when a member of one party consistently votes like the opposite party that the party being betrayed would take action and oust that person. But that never happens, does it. This alone is proof that we do not have a two party system. The democrat communist party does not have any DINOs because they don’t allow it. If a conservative democrat should accidentally get elected, democrats will make sure they lose in the next election or they create an expose’ environment that forces that person out via resignation or a criminal conviction. Politics IS the dirtiest business in the world and the Left has turned it into an “art form”. It’s too bad that “we the people” just allow it to continue.

      • HAWK

Right that`s why Trump is draining the swamp and we the people have to keep it clean with our votes.

  • KingDon

“if Mitch McConnell cannot get the job done on this, how is he going to get the job done on the rest of President Trump’s agenda?” Get real. When has it ever been his goal to help Trump with the president’s agenda? His main and only objective is to block and stall any forward movement by Trump until the socialist/progressives can manage to grab a few seats back and continue destroying America. That’s all he and Ryan and the rest of those like-minded clowns intend to do instead of fulfilling the wishes of the voting American public.

    • maxx

Congress is nothing but a continuous kabuki theater performance by 535 mental misfits.

  • Terry Edwards

That sums it up quite nicely. I don’t see it being said any better.

  • Galina Zlotskaya

GOP Rep: McConnell Should Step Down

  • Galina Zlotskaya

    YES.ABSOLUTELY AGREE.

    Rep: McConnell Should Step Down.

  • maxx

The only reason McConnell, McCain and Paul Ryan (all big time RINOs) continue to get reelected is due to democommie cross-over voting. Study the voting patterns for several weeks before each election. They all tend to be losing based on polls but then always win. This is an indication of cross-over voting. When there is a possibility that they will lose the democrat communist party sends out the word to it’s supporters to vote for the RINO because RINO’s are more valuable. It’s like having a “mole” in the middle of all the republican meetings and strategy sessions. What could be better than that? In Mississippi, there were published reports and video interviews of democrats being paid $$$ to vote for Thad Cochran.

He needs to be kicked in the seat of his pants so hard that he lands on another continent.
