In a rare but honest moment, President Donald Trump revealed that he “greatly” appreciated a recent remark from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, but that wasn’t all.
Recently Pelosi finally declared that she was “not for impeachment” of President Trump.
“Impeachment is so divisive to the country that unless there’s something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan, I don’t think we should go down that path, because it divides the country,” Pelosi shared. “He’s just not worth it.”
This prompted Trump to tweet his response. But while he was grateful for Pelosi’s concession, he also pointed out that there was no reason to impeach him to begin with.
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders also reacted to Pelosi’s comments, calling on other Democrats to “get on board” with the idea.
She called on Democrats to “do their jobs and quit trying to focus so much on making excuses for the historic loss that they suffered in 2016,” Sanders said. “Let’s work with the president and solve some real problems.”
