Kanye West Defends Wearing MAGA Hat

Recently on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Kanye West spoke about his choice to wear a “Make America Great Again” hat, which he was told constantly not to do.

“[J]ust as a musician, African-American, guy out in Hollywood — all these different things, you know, everyone around me tried to pick my candidate for me,” West stated. “And then told me every time I said I liked Trump that I couldn’t say it out loud or my career would be over. I’d get kicked out of the black community because blacks — we’re supposed to have a monolithic thought, we can only like, we can only be Democrats and all. So, even when I said it right before I went to the hospital and I expressed myself, and when I came out I had lost my confidence.”

“So, I didn’t have the confidence to take on the world and the possible backlash, and it took me a year and a half have the confidence to stand up and put on the hat no matter what the consequences were,” he added. “And what it represented to me is not about policies because I’m not a politician like that. But it represented overcoming fear and doing what you felt, no matter what anyone said, in saying, you can’t bully me. Liberals can’t bully me. News can’t bully me. The hip-hop community — they can’t bully me. Because at that point, if I’m afraid to be me, I’m no longer Ye. That’s what makes Ye. And I actually quite enjoy when people are mad at me about certain things.”

He’s a free negro, he can do whatever his little heart desires!!

    • Agreed! That IS what has made America Great from the get-go! And it will continue to work that way as long as we endorse the free enterprise that Kayne West has discovered.

    I respect Kayne West-He is his Own-Man.!!!

    Very well said Kanye!!!!

  • It is a shame that the so called main street media which is really an arm of the democrat party and the majority of blacks go after him. He is looking at what is taking place and made a decision the country is getting better than when Obama was President. But is endorsement means a lot to Trump and I believe Trump appreciates it.

Haray for Mr Kanye West. He has gone against the grain . It’s about time that he is one of the few from the entertainment world ,that shows he’s a conservative, and a Trump supporter just like actor Tim Alien.
I’m glad that Mr. West has gone against the liberal democrat establishment . I’m glad he has left the liberal plantation .And does not believe their nonsense.
And if the black community doesn’t like him anymore. Well they’re still in the dark still sleeping .They haven’t woken up yet.
Mr. West woke up. I may not be a fan of the man’s music. But I call him Mr .West, because I respect him He has made a great choice to be on the right side. And has stepped away from the left side .
And the last thing of course, Jimmy Kimmel. Mind you’re own fucken business. Get off of television forever.

I have a whole new respect for Kanye West! He has shown me that he is a man of integrity, character, and one who is true to himself and what he believes! Mr. West, you have my blessings and respect forever! I know that your mother would be so proud that she raised a true leader and not a simple follower! God bless you and your precious family!
