Papa John’s Chairman Resigns Over Racism

John Schnatter, the founder and chairman of Papa John’s, is resigning after it was uncovered that he made a racial slur during a conference call in May.

Schnatter confirmed confirmed stating, “News reports attributing the use of inappropriate and hurtful language to me during a media training session regarding race are true. Regardless of the context, I apologize. Simply stated, racism has no place in our society.”

Schnatter said during the call, “Colonel Sanders called blacks [expletives].”

Spare me. As a society, we seem to have a bugaboo concerning racist remarks about African-Americans and Hispanics. Everyone else is fair game for all kinds of slurs and stereotypes, unless you’re a Republican in which case you’re not allowed to say anything at all.

Just what will human communications be like once the PC Police has everyone walking on glass?

    • WilliamHarrington

Rodney – I think you meant walking on egg shells.

      • Rodney

No, I think glass shards is more appropriate. These idiots want to inflict as much pain as possible.

  • JimmyD

I’m so sick of this they need to pack up their PC BS and move to their favorite communist country.

  • WilliamHarrington

Using a racial slur about a black person is not the same as using the slur when speaking about the history behind it.

  • John D Lite

Schnatter resigns over a phone comment, but an FBI agent and lawyer email comments that show bias toward the President and are just ignored

  • Jmanjo

Total BS. Just pronouncing a word that others say all the time with no smear or repercussions is not fair if someone is only repeating a word as a course of reference. Thus is no reason for resignation. This is carrying PC too dang far!

    • Rick Vitti

Yes, stating the TRUTH nowadays leads to BS like this, except when it comes to TRUE hate speech about PRESIDENT TRUMP.

And i was just starting to like there pisa after there stand on the n f l thugs .O well guess i didnt waste to much with them . another company thats way to PC for me to deal with

  • ROB

If we are to ban these “words” ,and that’s all they are, then no one should be allowed to use them. Whites or blacks.

  • SgtOIF

Give me a break!! Are people so weak willed that words will get their panties in a knot???

  • Berengaria

I read the article & Mr. Schnatter said nothing racist about anyone, but simply repeated a term that was used by another Franchise Celebrity. The War on Free Speech & the First Amendment,by the Left, is just as Rotten as the War on the Second Amendment, by the Left.
Let’s be realistic, the Left has declared War on the US Constitution & the American People, but as long as there is a Papa John’s, I will be buying their Pizza.

  • Ken Vannoy

Who cares… The blacks are way too sensitive about that word. The ones that truly deserve that connotation are Obama, Holder, Lynch, Waters, democratic congressional black caucus of the House and the like.

  • Eugene Verkner

How is this different? Where were the calls for resignation? Or is this black privilege?

  • He should never have resigned over making a comment on a phone call. This political correct junk is just that….junk (for lack of using another word). This stuff has gone way too far and now invading our own private rights.
