On NBC’s “Today” show, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders shared with host Savannah Guthrie that after Mueller’s report revealed no collusion, both President Trump and the American people were due an apology.
Specifically Sanders called on “Democrats and the liberal media” to make amends for their treatment of Trump, dragging out a two year investigation and costing the American taxpayers millions of dollars “just to find out that there was nothing there.”
“I think Democrats and the liberal media owe the president, and they owe the American people, an apology. They wasted two years and created a massive disruption and distraction from things that impact everyone’s day-to-day life,” Sanders told Guthrie.
Sanders further spoke about how the entire incident should have never taken place, and that Republicans were looking to ensure that it didn’t reoccur in the future.
“This should never happen to another president,” she said. “And we want to make sure that the institution of the president is protected.”
