In 2011, then-Congresswoman Gabby Giffords was wounded in a mass shooting that resulted in her stepping down due to injuries. Now, her husband, Mark Kelly is hoping to fill her old position.
The retired U.S. astronaut sits next to his wife as he discusses the events of his life in a posted video.
“I thought that I had the risky job. It turned out that you were the one who had the risky job,” Kelly said of wife Giffords.
Kelley hopes to unseat Republican Senator Martha MCSally, who lost the state’s election for Senate in November but was appointed to fill the position after it was made vacant by the passing of Sen. John McCain.
