Americans were shocked by the story and video of two evil vicious thugs who robbed and attacked an elderly woman as she was praying in a church. The only thing that could have been better than one of the scumbags being caught is who turned him in.
YES! His own Aunt turned him in! God bless her!! If more people were as responsible as she is, high crime-ridden communities would start to turn around.
More from WOWT News:
The missing suspect in a robbery and assault at St. Cecilia Cathedral has been identified as Larry Leggett, 20, and he is now in police custody, along with Wayman Clark.
Police say that shortly before 3:30 Friday afternoon officers with the Metro Area Fugitive Task Force located Leggett in the 4700 block of North 36th Avenue. They say he tried to run from the rear of a residence when officers announced themselves but the home was surrounded. He ran back inside. Police say Task Force members were then able to talk Leggett into surrendering. He was arrested without further incident and booked for robbery.
Police say they were able to identify Leggett as their missing suspect through a combination of Crime Stoppers tips and the work of the Task Force, the OPD Gang Unit and Robbery Unit Detectives.
Prior to Leggett’s arrest, bond was set Friday morning at 10 percent of $500,000 for Wayman Clark, the other man accused in the robbery last Sunday.
Police say 22-year-old Clark was one of two men seen on surveillance video who ran up behind the 76-year-old victim. One grabbed her purse and the other punched her in the head, knocking her to the floor, causing a gash that sent her to the hospital.
Prosecutors say it was Clark who threw the punch. They say they did not file assault charges in this case because the robbery charge carries more time.
Thank God for that woman’s good conscience.
